The Regional Forum of the Turkestan Region
On October 6, as part of the 11th Civil Forum of Kazakhstan, a Regional Forum was held in the city of Turkestan on the topic 'The Role of Civil Society in Implementing the Principles and Approaches of Family and Gender Policies as an Integral Part of the National Development Strategy.' The event featured a fair of social ideas and projects, where the best projects were presented to the public.
The Akim (Governor) of the Turkestan Region congratulated the Association of Legal Entities 'Civil Alliance of the Turkestan Region' on its 20th anniversary. The association brings together more than 40 non-governmental organizations.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairperson of the Association of Legal Entities 'Civil Alliance of the Turkestan Region,' Inara Namazbayeva. The head of the Women's Protection Group against Violence of the Turkestan Region Police Department, Police Lieutenant Colonel Zhanar Kalabaeva, reported on the ongoing work to protect the rights of mothers and children and prevent violence.
The forum addressed issues related to family and gender policies. Recommendations were given, and plans were formulated during the discussions.
