A meeting was held between Minister of Justice Yerlan Sarsembayev and representatives of civil society

Today, ahead of the XII Civil Forum of Kazakhstan, a series of meetings was launched between senior officials of central government bodies and representatives of the non-governmental sector on their respective areas of responsibility.
In Astana, Minister of Justice Yerlan Sarsembayev met with representatives of civil society to discuss issues of digitalization and the implementation of international human rights obligations.
The Minister emphasized the important role of civil society, particularly in the preparation and defense of national reports under the Universal Periodic Review and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. These efforts have strengthened Kazakhstan’s international image and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to its international human rights obligations.
The meeting also featured a Q&A session, which facilitated direct dialogue between civil society representatives and the Ministry of Justice.
