2026 — International Year of Volunteers.

On the initiative of the Head of State, the UN General Assembly declared 2026 the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development. This year is dedicated to highlighting the importance of volunteer work in society and encouraging people to help one another.

Supporting volunteer initiatives, Kazakhstan proposed the idea of holding the traditional Volunteers Forum for CIS countries. To this end, on January 30, a Forum will be held in Astana to mark the official opening of the International Year of Volunteers.
