Development of Rural Civic Initiatives

Within the framework of the project “Development of Civic Initiatives in Rural Areas,” we continue to highlight grant recipients and their achievements. One example is the project “School of Young Bloggers,” implemented by the NGO “Volunteer Center ‘DIS’” in the Kostanay region for the youth of the Sarykol district.

The project aimed to develop media literacy, legal awareness, and digital content creation skills. Training sessions were organized on managing social media, the basics of internet safety, and a video contest about the participants’ native district.

As a result, participants gained practical skills in the media space, produced their own video projects, and became more actively involved in community life. A total of 42 participants were trained, and 2 speakers were involved. The project demonstrated that small grants are an effective tool for supporting youth initiatives at the local level.
