Today in Astana, the Volunteers Forum was held to mark the official opening of the International Year of Volunteers. This initiative was proposed by the Head of State, Kassym‑Jomart Kemelovich Tokayev, at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly and received broad support from the international community. Volunteers from the “Madenietti Mura” project, aimed at developing volunteering in the field of history and culture, took part in the event.

In his speech, the President noted: “To be a volunteer means to do good deeds, create good, set an example for others, serve your homeland faithfully, and show care for your native land.”

The Head of State supported the idea of implementing a digital volunteer passport and emphasized the importance of creating international platforms for experience sharing. Following the forum, the Government was tasked with developing a new Roadmap for the Development of Volunteering up to 2030.
