The Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan discussed mechanisms of public participation in constitutional reforms.

Today, a meeting of the National Discussion Club “Ūstanym” was held, dedicated to the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The meeting was attended by members of Parliament, members of the Constitutional Reform Commission, heads of NGOs, and leaders of civil alliances.

Participants discussed key areas of constitutional changes, the role of civil society institutions in their implementation, and mechanisms of public participation in political and legal transformations.

During the meeting, the President of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan, Banu Nurgaziyeva, as a representative of the Nationwide Coalition “For the People’s Constitution of a Just and Progressive Kazakhstan!”, emphasized that the draft of the new Constitution will become the foundation for building a Strong and Just Kazakhstan that meets modern challenges and the country’s strategic development course.

In addition, issues were addressed regarding improving interaction between the state and society, expanding citizen participation in discussing strategic documents, and increasing the transparency of the legislative process.
