Within the framework of the project “Development of Civil Initiatives in Rural Areas”, we continue to present the results of small grants.
At the “ErekShem” Rehabilitation Center, a project aimed at supporting and rehabilitating children with special needs was implemented. From September to November, specialists conducted initial assessments of 30 children, evaluating their cognitive development, speech and language skills, motor functions, as well as social adaptation and emotional well-being. Based on the results of the assessment, individual development plans were designed for each child.
To increase the effectiveness of rehabilitation, the center purchased and installed a special mechanical simulator that imitates walking. Before starting the work, specialists received training on its safe use.
Using the new equipment, individual and group sessions were organized for 30 children with the participation of a physiotherapist, a physical therapy instructor, and specialized professionals. As a result of the rehabilitation course, many children demonstrated positive progress, including improved muscle tone, coordination and balance, as well as increased confidence and motivation.
Consultations were also provided to parents, including practical recommendations on child care and how to continue rehabilitation at home. The implementation of the project contributed to improving the children’s motor and adaptive skills and strengthened cooperation between specialists and families.
