On October 13, 2023, the XI Astana Civil Forum was held in the capital.

The forum, organized jointly by the NGO Alliance of Astana, the Astana City Department of Internal Policy, and the KAMEDA Public Fund, became a key event for civil society, government institutions, and business.

The theme of the 2023 forum was “Partnership between Government and Society for Building a Rule-of-Law State.”

The forum brought together NGOs from Kazakhstan and Astana, government agencies, international organizations, political parties, and business representatives.

Participants had the opportunity to attend the main plenary session and choose one of three thematic sections:

• “A Government That Listens to the People: Points of Breakthrough”

• “Sustainable NGOs – Contribution to the Socio-Economic Development of the Capital”

• “Women and Youth. World. Security”

In addition, the forum featured presentations sharing personal experiences of civil society representatives and the experiences of their organizations.

Winners of the “Local Initiatives” competition among Astana NGOs were also awarded for the best social videos aimed at informing different groups of the population and addressing their social issues. Within the competition, 10 winners received certificates worth 500,000 KZT. On behalf of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan and the Astana NGO Alliance, active NGOs and business partners received letters of appreciation.

As a result of the forum, proposals and recommendations were prepared to be sent to the Astana City Akimat, the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan, and, if necessary, to relevant ministries of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
