As part of the project “Development of Civil Initiatives in Rural Areas,” we continue to share the results of small grants.

In Aksu district of Zhetysu region, the public foundation “Zhansugirov” implemented the project “Support for Unemployed Youth.” The project aimed to support unemployed youth and young families, as well as to expand their opportunities for employment and self-realization.

Within the project, from October 9 to 30, outreach meetings with young people were organized in 17 rural districts of the area. The meetings were attended by unemployed youth, citizens interested in obtaining concessional loans, and young families. Participants received informational and methodological materials on state and quasi-state support programs, as well as branded folders with office supplies prepared במסגרת the grant competition.

On October 31, a motivational meeting was held with Gulmira Ospanova, a recipient of a non-repayable state grant. She shared her personal experience of starting a business and answered participants’ questions. Practical recommendations and additional informational materials were also provided.

The final stage of the project was a seminar held on November 3, attended by 85 participants. Representatives of the entrepreneurs’ association, Career Center, entrepreneurship department, and Youth Resource Center delivered speeches. The speakers provided comprehensive information on state support measures and opportunities for starting a business, and answered participants’ questions.

As a result of the project, the level of awareness among young people about employment and entrepreneurship opportunities increased, and interaction between youth, government bodies, and civil society institutions was strengthened.
