On November 27, 2024, a delegation of local self-government (LSG) experts visited the Mangystau Region. The delegation included Dr. Jovanka Yakubek-Lalik, Associate Professor at the University of Warsaw and EU international expert, and Sholpan Aitenova, national LSG expert in Kazakhstan and Director of Zertteu Research Institute.
In the morning, the experts met with rural akims and deputies of Mangystau Region to discuss local self-government development issues. In the afternoon, they visited social enterprises that had previously received EU grant support through implemented projects.
During the visit, the effectiveness of the European Union projects was assessed, and prospects for further cooperation were discussed.
The main partner and organizer of the event was the NGO “Mangystau Regional Civil Alliance.”
