The Role of NGOs in Developing Local Communities Discussed in Shieli
Today, a meeting was held at the “Rukhaniyat Center” in Shieli district on developing local communities through the potential of non-governmental organizations. The event brought together representatives of state bodies from Shieli and Zhanakorgan districts, civil society organizations, and members of local communities.
Anar Zharlykasynkyzy, Chair of the Kyzylorda Regional Civil Alliance, highlighted the contribution of rural NGOs to the socio-economic development of the region:
“Public organizations identify the needs of village residents, implement social projects, and engage citizens in local governance processes, thereby promoting social activity and improving quality of life in the village.”
Participants shared proposals for revitalizing local community work and strengthening the partnership between NGOs and government structures. They also discussed the importance of the fourth-level budget system — based on the principle “village money is managed by the village itself” — and the obstacles residents face in understanding this system and enhancing community engagement.
