The Role of NGOs in Developing Local Communities Discussed in Karmakshi District
A significant meeting was held in Karmakshi district on “Developing Local Community Activities through the Potential of Non-Governmental Organizations.” The purpose of the event was to strengthen the role of civil society institutions, enhance the activity of local communities, and improve interaction between government agencies and NGOs.
The meeting was attended by village heads from Karmakshi, Syrdarya, and Zhalagash districts, NGO chairpersons, members of local communities, active youth, and community representatives.
The event was moderated by Anar Zharlykasynkyzy Izden, Chair of the Kyzylorda Regional NGO Alliance and member of the Regional Public Council. She emphasized the importance of civil society institutions in regional development. Dias Asylbekuly Moldabayev, Deputy Akim of Karmakshi District, highlighted the region’s socio-economic development priorities and ways to enhance local community engagement.
Speakers focused on sector-based work and shared relevant information. The importance of establishing a fourth-level budget and explaining its potential for village development to residents was stressed.
Developing NGOs is a crucial mechanism for supporting village initiatives, solving local issues with community participation, and increasing citizens’ engagement in public life. Rural NGOs strengthen trust between citizens and authorities and contribute to the sustainable implementation of social projects in rural areas.
During the meeting, discussions covered strengthening partnerships between government agencies and NGOs, joint implementation of social projects, and effective use of NGO potential in rural development.
At the conclusion, participants exchanged opinions and received answers to pressing questions. The results will be presented at the event dedicated to International NGO Day on February 27.
