Meeting on Extremism Held at the “Shapagat” Orphanage in Karaganda

As part of the project to enhance religious literacy among the population of Karaganda, a meeting was held with the staff of the “Shapagat” orphanage.

The speaker was Dauren Shegeniyazovich Kanaev — Director of the NGO “Nurly Bilim” Center for Assistance to Victims of Destructive Religious Movements.

The topic of the meeting was “Extremism: Extremes and Adaptation Challenges.” The dialogue addressed the causes of extremist ideas, their impact on society, and issues of radicalization prevention. Special attention was given to the role of social institution specialists in forming stable value orientations and preventing people from being drawn into destructive movements.
