On February 4, a meeting was held at the office of the Civil Alliance of the Karaganda Region with Yuri Gusakov, Director of the Karaganda branch of the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and the Rule of Law.

The discussion was attended by representatives of civil society, members of the Civil Alliance of the Karaganda Region, as well as youth representatives — volunteers of the “Healthy Life” movement and activists of the youth wing of the Alliance.

During the event, key novelties of the draft new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan were discussed. The discussion was substantive and analytical, covering a wide range of issues related to the protection of human rights and freedoms, as well as matters of state and public security.

Of particular value to participants was the in-depth and systematic analysis of the provisions of the current Basic Law and the draft prepared by the Constitutional Reform Commission, taking into account international law enforcement practice.
