Seminar on Enhancing Religious Literacy Held in Otrar District

A seminar titled “Religious Literacy: A Guarantee of Stability” was held in the Otrar district, aimed at improving the qualifications of students and teachers of educational institutions. The event was organized by the Internal Policy Department of the Otrar District Akimat.

The speaker was Turganbay Kurmanbayuly Abdrasilov, PhD, Head of the Research Center at the International University of Tourism and Hospitality.

During the seminar, the speaker explained the importance of religious literacy and outlined the key principles of secularism in the education system. He also covered the current state of religious education and ways to counter religious extremism.

It was emphasized that one of the key values is religious identity, the revival of the spiritual path followed by ancestors, and its active promotion among the younger generation. It was noted that every citizen should understand the significance of these values.

The spiritual meeting, aimed at promoting national values and fostering morality and ethics, featured meaningful and insightful discussions.

The meeting was concluded by Galymzhan Ryskululy Sarsekov, Chief Specialist of the District Internal Policy Department, who expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the district residents to Turganbay Kurmanbayuly for his valuable contribution and for sharing important insights on the significance of religious literacy.
