Seminar on Enhancing Religious Literacy Held in Otrar District
A seminar titled “Culture – Religion – Nation – State Relations” was held in the Otrar district to improve the qualifications of members of the district information and outreach group, representatives of religious associations, and specialists of rural districts responsible for religious affairs.
The event was organized by the Civil Alliance of the Turkestan Region with the support of the Internal Policy Department of the Otrar District Akimat.
The speaker of the seminar was Dosay Tursynbayuly Kenzhetay, PhD, Professor, and Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University.
During the seminar, the speaker explained the state policy concept in the religious sphere and outlined the key principles of secularism in the education system. He also highlighted the connection between the stages of Islamic history and the history of Kazakhstan.
It was emphasized that one of the key values is religious identity, the revival of the spiritual path of ancestors, and its active promotion among the younger generation. It was noted that every citizen should understand the importance of these values.
The spiritual meeting, aimed at promoting national values, morality, and ethics, featured insightful and meaningful discussions.
During the meeting, the Naib Imam of the Otrar district, Kaldybay Usenuly Zhusipov, presented a report on efforts to ensure religious stability in the district and measures to improve the qualifications of imams within religious associations.
The meeting was concluded by Galymzhan Ryskululy Sarsekov, Chief Specialist of the District Internal Policy Department, who expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the district residents to Dosay Tursynbayuly for his informative presentation and for sharing important insights on the negative impact of destructive religious movements.
