As part of the project “Organization of the Information and Awareness Group to Improve Religious Literacy among the Population of Karaganda City,” a preventive meeting was held with students of the Karaganda Banking College named after Zh.K. Bukenov on the topic: “Countering Religious Extremism and Terrorism. Methods of Protection from Recruiters and Destructive Religious Movements.”
The speaker was Serik Tlekbayev, Executive Director of the Center for the Study and Analysis of Social Processes, legal expert in religious studies.
During the meeting, the causes of extremism, its threats to society, as well as the role of critical thinking and information literacy in preventing youth involvement in destructive ideologies were discussed in detail.
