As part of the project “Organization of the Information and Awareness Group to Improve Religious Literacy among the Population of Karaganda City,” a preventive meeting was held with the faculty of the Karaganda Banking College named after Zh.K. Bukenov on the topic: “Countering Religious Extremism and Terrorism. Methods of Protection from Recruiters and Destructive Religious Movements.”
The speaker was Serik Tlekbayev, Executive Director of the Center for the Study and Analysis of Social Processes, legal expert in religious studies.
During the meeting, the causes of extremism and its risks to society were discussed, with special emphasis placed on the importance of critical thinking and information literacy as key factors in preventing youth involvement in destructive ideologies.
