As part of the project aimed at improving religious literacy among the residents of Karaganda, a meeting was held with students and coaches of the Regional Specialized Olympic Reserve Swimming School under the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Karaganda Region.

The speaker of the event was Dmitry Sergeyevich Poltarenko — Chairman of the Mediation Council of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan of the Karaganda Region, Head of the regional branch of the “Counter-Terrorism Committee” public association, moderator of the club of leaders of religious associations in the Karaganda Region, and member of the Republican Information and Outreach Group on Religious Affairs under the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, participants discussed the dangers of social media as well as the risks of youth involvement in destructive pseudo-religious and religious movements.
