Initiated by the Civil Alliance Association of West Kazakhstan Region and the West Kazakhstan Regional Consumer Protection Society, with the support of the Regional Department of Public Development and the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial-Innovative Development, the event focused on:

“Food Quality and Safety, Consumer Rights Protection, and Pricing Issues for Food Products.”

The roundtable brought together representatives of government agencies, the Chamber of Entrepreneurs, civil society organizations, the business community, and active citizens.

Participants discussed current issues related to food quality and safety, compliance with sanitary, epidemiological, and veterinary requirements, consumer rights protection, public oversight mechanisms, and pricing of socially significant food products.

Particular attention was paid to citizens' concerns regarding the quality of meat and dairy products, conditions of their sale, and the supervisory functions of government authorities. It was emphasized that effective cooperation between the government, business sector, and civil society is essential for ensuring legality, market transparency, and the protection of consumers' rights.

Following the discussion, participants expressed their readiness to continue cooperation and develop joint recommendations. Priority initiatives included establishing public monitoring groups, developing practical guidelines for consumers in cases of low-quality food products, strengthening public awareness campaigns on consumer safety, and implementing additional measures aimed at improving product quality, enhancing public oversight, and increasing consumer confidence.

Open dialogue and joint efforts remain key tools for ensuring a safe consumer market and protecting the rights of citizens.
