As part of the project “Organization of the Information and Awareness Group for Enhancing Religious Literacy among the Population of Karaganda City,” an informational meeting was held with employees of the Zhaikhan Bekturov Karaganda Regional Youth Library.

The speaker of the meeting was Dmitry Sergeyevich Poltarenko, Chairman of the Mediation Council of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan of the Karaganda Region, Head of the Karaganda Regional Branch of the Public Association “Counter-Terrorism Committee,” Moderator of the Club of Religious Association Leaders of the Karaganda Region, and a member of the National Information and Awareness Group on Religious Affairs under the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, participants discussed the topic “Youth and Religion,” examined current challenges related to the spread of destructive ideologies among young people, and considered the role of families, educational institutions, and libraries in fostering religious literacy, spiritual culture, and resilience to radical ideas among youth.
