On June 19, 2026, the Abai Regional Library in Karaganda hosted the presentation of the book "If He Hits You, He Will Kill You."

The event was more than just a meeting with readers—it became an important open discussion about domestic violence, which remains one of the most pressing social issues in Kazakhstan. The book is based on the true stories of ordinary women who endured pain and fear and ultimately found the strength to rebuild their lives.

The event gained particular significance through the participation of the women whose stories are featured in the book. They shared their personal experiences, while a lawyer and a psychologist spoke about legal protection mechanisms and the psychological support available to survivors of domestic violence.

Participants involved in the Kazbek Bi District's social projects also attended the event, including families facing difficult life circumstances and women under the supervision of the probation service.
