THE LEGACY OF YASAWI – A CORNERSTONE OF NATIONAL VALUES: “YASAWI CARAVAN” IN OTYRAR DISTRICT
A meaningful seminar dedicated to studying the spiritual legacy of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, promoting national values, and sharing them with the younger generation was held in Otyrar District.
The regional scientific and educational event “Yasawi Caravan,” which began its journey in Turkistan, aimed to explore the life and works of the great thinker and prominent representative of Sufi teachings, Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, as well as to promote the spiritual and moral values reflected in his hikmets in connection with modern society.
The seminar was moderated by Yerlan Yergazuly Dakenov, Director of the “Azret Sultan” National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.
During the event, Medet Muzapbaruly Khalikov, Director of the Turkistan Region Center for the Study of Religious Issues, spoke about the spiritual and social significance of Yasawi’s legacy.
Kenzhetay Dosai Tursynbayuly, Professor of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and Doctor of Theology, shared insights into the academic study of Yasawi’s teachings.
Bauyrzhan Nasyrdinuly Sayfunov, Doctor of Theology (PhD), Associate Professor, and Director of the “Yasawitanu” Research Institute, delivered a presentation on “The Historical Personality of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and National Identity.”
Serzhan Karsybayuly Orazbay, Associate Professor of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and religious studies expert, addressed the topic “Spiritual Values in Yasawi’s Hikmets,” highlighting their significance in personal development and moral education.
In addition, Mukhit Zhylkaydarly Tolegen, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Theology and PhD holder, presented a report on “The Teachings of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and Kazakh Traditions,” emphasizing the connection between Yasawi’s worldview and the traditional culture of the Kazakh people.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Aidos Kulmakhanuly Kulmakhanov, Deputy Akim of Otyrar District, delivered closing remarks and expressed gratitude to all participants.
The event was organized within the framework of the project “Implementation of comprehensive activities aimed at promoting traditions among residents and youth of Otyrar District, enhancing spiritual values, and strengthening social stability,” carried out under the State Social Order of Otyrar District.
