As part of the project aimed at enhancing the religious literacy of the population of Karaganda, a meeting with the staff of the Shapagat Children’s Home was held.

The speaker was Dauren Shegenyazovich Kanaev, Head of the Public Association “Nurly Bilim Center for Assistance to Victims of Destructive Religious Movements.”

The meeting focused on “Preventing Radicalization and the Principles of Secularism in the Republic of Kazakhstan.” The discussion addressed the causes behind the spread of extremist ideas, their impact on society, as well as measures to prevent radicalization.

Particular attention was paid to the role of social institution professionals in fostering strong and sustainable value orientations and preventing individuals from becoming involved in destructive religious movements.
