In the Karkaraly District of the Karaganda Region, a campaign was held to remove vandalism and graffiti from natural and historical-cultural sites.
The initiative was implemented as part of the “Sayahattime — Leave No Trace in Our Country” project by Sanakbay Zhanaray Sansyzbaykyzy, a winner of the Small Grants Competition under the “Development of Volunteerism in the Field of History and Culture” initiative.
Volunteers from the Madeni Mura Club and activists from the Karaganda Region took part in the campaign. At the Ush Ungir National Park, participants removed vandalistic inscriptions from rock surfaces, contributing to the preservation of the area’s natural appearance and cultural value.
Such initiatives not only contribute to the direct restoration of heritage sites but also help foster a responsible attitude among citizens toward the country’s natural, historical, and cultural heritage. In this regard, the practical involvement of young people and volunteers in heritage preservation activities is particularly important.
