Launch of the “Enhancing Methane Transparency and OGMP 2.0 in Mangystau Oil and Gas” Project

We are launching a project aimed at increasing the transparency of environmental data and strengthening cooperation on methane emissions reduction in the oil and gas sector of Mangystau Region.

As part of the project, we will work with government authorities, oil and gas companies, civil society, the media, and the academic community to strengthen knowledge and practical capacity in methane data transparency and the implementation of OGMP 2.0.

Key areas of the project:

• multi-stakeholder dialogue on methane emissions reduction;
• training for government officials and oil and gas companies on OGMP 2.0;
• training for civil society and media representatives on methane data transparency;
• an information and awareness-raising campaign;
• open and guest lectures at universities.

We believe that joint efforts will help strengthen open dialogue and improve transparency regarding methane emissions in the oil and gas sector.

The project is implemented with the support of the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
