Information and Awareness-Raising Meeting on Religious Literacy

As part of the project “Organization of the Work of an Information and Awareness-Raising Group to Improve the Religious Literacy of the Population of Karaganda”, an information and awareness-raising meeting was held with a person registered with the probation service of the Kazybek Bi District.

The speaker was Dmitry Sergeyevich Poltarenko, Chairperson of the Mediation Council of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in Karaganda Region, Head of the Karaganda Regional Branch of the Republican Public Association “Counter-Terrorist Committee,” Moderator of the Club of Heads of Religious Associations of Karaganda Region, and Member of the Republican Information and Awareness-Raising Group on Religious Issues under the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, participants discussed ways to improve religious literacy and prevent religious extremism and radicalism. Particular attention was also given to the importance of strengthening spiritual unity and social stability.
