As part of the information and awareness-raising campaign on the upcoming nationwide referendum and the draft new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a meeting was held with representatives of the public from the Damsa and Bozaygyr rural districts.

During the information and awareness-raising event, participants were provided with detailed information on the key provisions of the draft new Constitution. Particular attention was paid to the transition to a unicameral Parliament — the Kurultai, strengthening the role of political parties, establishing an absolute ban on the death penalty, expanding guarantees for the protection of human rights and freedoms, as well as strengthening the status of regions and maslikhats.

The meeting also addressed issues related to reforming the judicial system, strengthening the institution of the Constitutional Court, protecting citizens’ housing rights, and developing local self-government.
