A meeting of the “USTANIM” Discussion Club of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan was held in Astana on the topic “Khalyk Kenesi: A Format for Civic Participation in Kazakhstan’s New Political Architecture.”

The main focus of the meeting was the role of Khalyk Kenesi in advancing civic participation, new formats of interaction between civil society and state institutions, as well as opportunities for active participation of public organizations and citizens in the country’s socio-political development processes.

The discussion brought together representatives of civil society, public organizations, experts and professional communities, as well as members of Khalyk Kenesi.

During the discussion, participants considered the role and significance of Khalyk Kenesi in the current system of civic participation, issues related to representing the interests of civil society, and prospects for developing public dialogue. Particular attention was also paid to practical mechanisms for interaction between public organizations, the expert community, and state institutions.
