Strengthening the Capacity of Public Councils

Project Description

To strengthen the institutional capacity of the Public Councils of the Republic of Kazakhstan, enhance the effectiveness of public oversight mechanisms, and promote interregional cooperation through systematic dialogue platforms, public awareness activities, and the introduction of digital collaboration tools.

Project Objective:

Increase the number of active users of the www.kazkenes.kz web portal by at least 10% annually;

Involve at least 10 Public Councils annually in public oversight through the Small Grants Programme;

Organize at least one national-level event each year;

Conduct at least five interregional dialogue platforms annually;

Produce at least 10 videos highlighting the activities of Public Councils and promote them through mass media and social networks;

maintain and modernize the www.kazkenes.kz web portal in Kazakh and Russian by introducing at least three new features, managing user access, and providing technical support;

Prepare an annual Collection of Best Practices of Public Councils;

Organize national events:

The Public Councils Forum (with at least 70 participants from 17 regions and 3 cities of republican significance) in 2026;

The National Majilis of Public Councils (with at least 200 participants) in 2027.

Project Coverage:

Republic of Kazakhstan (all 20 regions of the country).
